Student Summer Travel Awards

The Pacific Basin Research Center (PBRC) is currently accepting applications for its 2013 Student Travel Awards. Awards for up to $1000 are available to support students undertaking research, internship, or under some conditions, conference / workshop activities over the summer months. Upon completion of their activities, students are expected to provide a brief report on their activities no later than September 1st. Students receiving internship support are expected to submit a report on their experiences as an intern as part of the PBRC’s new Student Internship Briefs series.
Applicants must provide their curriculum vitae, an academic reference, and a cover letter which provides the following details: the project’s rational, duration, total expenses, other sources of funding, and a brief statement explaining how the project relates to the mission of the Pacific Basin Research Center.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with a final deadline of 15 April 2013. Understanding that students may need considerable time to plan and confirm their activities, decisions will be made on a rolling basis.
Please send your application, or direct potential questions, to PBRC Associate Director Shane Barter (pbrc@soka.edu).
