Call for Applications-Junior Scholar Program
The Pacific Basin Research Center is pleased to announce the call for applications for the inaugural members of the PBRC Junior Scholars program. We intend to select 3-5 outstanding SUA students whose interests mirror those of the PBRC, namely humanistic development in the Pacific Basin. PBRC Junior Scholars will enjoy access to PBRC facilities (include key access and personal study space in the PBRC library), a $300 research budget to order books and other materials to be stored at the PBRC library, a profile on our website, and will be invited to consult regarding PBRC initiatives such as guest speaker visits and student summer grants. We also hope that some Junior Scholars will be able to become involved in research projects alongside the PBRC’s global research network.
The Junior Scholars program reflects the PBRC’s goal of deepening its ties to Soka students, whose energies and ideas can shape the direction of the Center. Junior Scholar titles are subject to renewal each semester, and we hope to expand to approximately 10 Junior Scholars within the next year.
To apply, please send your resume and a brief (100 word) note of how your studies contribute to the PBRC’s core goals to Michelle Mastro, the PBRC Program Coordinator (email@example.com). Deadlines are 01 March 2014. If you have any questions, please contact Shane Barter, the PBRC’s Associate Director (firstname.lastname@example.org).
