The Faculty Fellowship Program replaces and expands the previous biennial Faculty Summer Grant Program. PBRC Faculty Fellowships will be awarded annually on a competitive basis, with a maximum allocation of $10,000 per award. The total amount available is $40,000 with the number of awards contingent upon the level of support provided to individual Fellowships. The Fellowship program is designed to enhance and encourage research related to the Pacific Basin, individual and/or collaborative, and scholarly activities more broadly among SUA faculty. Applications for support may be submitted in one of two areas: (A) Research or (B) Conferences and Symposia held at SUA.
PBRC Faculty Fellowships are one-year appointments, beginning after the Spring Semester through the academic year. Successful applicants will carry the title of PBRC Faculty Fellow and will receive copies of all PBRC publications, including the Occasional Papers Series and newsletters. Fellowship holders are generally expected to attend PBRC events and meetings. Fellowship Grants up to a maximum of $10,000, based on the proposed activities and anticipated budget, may only be used for expenditures directly related to their project, e.g., purchase of relevant research materials, travel, accommodation, food / per diem expenses, honoraria, and other related expenses.
